HCC ROAD CLOSURE ANNOUNCEMENT
The Hertfordshire (Temporary Closing of Coursers Road, Colney Heath) Order 2022
NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Coursers Road, Colney Heath from its junction with the Roestock Lane/High Street roundabout south westwards, south eastwards and south westwards to its junction with the A1081 The Bell roundabout, a distance of approximately 2270 metres (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via High Street, A414 North Orbital Road and A1081 London Colney Bypass.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 30 April 2022 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

The Hertfordshire (Temporary Closing of Smallford Lane, Smallford) Order 2022
NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the northbound carriageway of Smallford Lane, Smallford from its junction with A414 North Orbital Road north eastwards for a distance of approximately 107m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via A414 North Orbital Road, A1001 Comet Way, A1057 (St Albans Road West/Hatfield Road), Station Road and Smallford Lane.
The Order is needed because electrical works are proposed to be executed near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 7 March 2022 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

The Hertfordshire (Temporary Closing and Temporary Waiting Restrictions in Bullens Green Lane, Hatfield/Colney Heath) order 2022
For your information a copy of the Public Notice and plans giving details of the above temporary Order, which will come into operation from 6th February 2022
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Bullens Green Lane, Hatfield/Colney Heath from its junction with Tollgate Road north westwards, north eastwards, north westwards and north eastwards to its junctions with Roestock Lane, a distance of approximately 939m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Tollgate Road and Roestock Lane.
ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 6 February 2022 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Drakes Drive/Ashley Road, St Albans from its junction with A1081 London Road north eastwards and northwards to its junction with Camp Road (“the length of Roads”), a distance of approximately 1145 metres, except for access.
An alternative route will be via A1081 London Road, B6424 Alma Road, Beaconsfield Road, A1057 Hatfield Road and Camp Road.

The Hertfordshire (Temporary Closing and Temporary Waiting Restrictions in Various Roads in Smallford, Hatfield, Redbourn, St Albans, Sandridge, Harpenden and Wheathampstead) Order 2021
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-
- that length of A1057 Hatfield Road, Smallford/A1057 St Albans Road West, Hatfield from its junction with the Station Road/Oaklands Lane roundabout north eastwards to its junction with the Albatross Way/Ellenbrook Lane roundabout, a distance of approximately 1410 metres.
An alternative route will be via A1057 Hatfield Road, Ashley Road, Drakes Drive, A1081 London Road, A414 North Orbital Road, A1001 Comet Way and A1057 St Albans Road West.
- that length of Hill End Lane, St Albans from its junction with Nightingale Lane south westwards for a distance of approximately 173 metres.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
- that length of Colney Heath Lane, St Albans from its junction with Hill End Lane south eastwards for a distance of approximately 1101 metres.
An alternative route will be via Colney Heath Lane, A1057 Hatfield Road, Station Road, Smallford Lane, A4147 North Orbital Road and Colney Heath Lane.
- that length of Barley Mow Lane/Tyttenhanger Green, St Albans from its junction with Colney Heath Lane south westwards, south eastwards and south westwards to its junction with Highfield Lane, a distance of approximately 1750 metres.
An alternative route will be via Colney Heath Lane, A1057 Hatfield Road, Ashley Road, Camp Road, Hill End Lane and Highfield Lane.

NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the service road fronting Nos.54-80 Oaklands Lane, Smallford from its easternmost junction with Oaklands Lane north eastwards and north westwards for a distance of approximately 36m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Oaklands Lane and the service road fronting Nos.54-80 Oaklands Lane.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 18 August 2021 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access:-
- that length of Bullens Green Lane, Hatfield/Colney Heath from its junction with Tollgate Road north westwards, north eastwards, north westwards and north eastwards to its junction with Roestock Lane, a distance of approximately 799 metres.
An alternative route will be via Tollgate Road and Roestock Lane.
- that length of Roestock Lane, Colney Heath from its junction with Bullens Green Lane north eastwards for its entire length.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
- that length of Coopers Green Lane, Welwyn Garden City from its junction with the Oaklands Lane roundabout north eastwards, south eastwards and north eastwards to its junction with the B653 Brocket Road/B653 Stanborough Road roundabout, a distance of approximately 5371 metres.
An alternative route will be via Oaklands Lane, House Lane, B651 (High Street/ Wheathampstead Road/The Hill), Marford Road and B653 (Marford Road/Brocket Road).
The Order is needed because highway drainage works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 19 April 2021 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.
A copy of the proposed Order may be inspected free of charge at County Hall, Hertford between the hours of 9.00am and 5.00pm (excluding weekends, bank and public holidays).
